2007
Nearly 250 youth from local United Way organizations filled the Colts practice facility at the Union Federal Football Center on October 9, for the annual Hometown Huddle event. Started in 1999, Hometown Huddle is a league-wide event that encourages NFL teams to partner with their local United Way agency for a day of caring. This year, the Colts teamed up with the United Way of Central Indiana (UWCI) to host an event designed to promote healthy, active lifestyles among youth in grades 2-6. The Dairy & Nutrition Council of Indiana promoted good nutrition by taking milk mustache photos and providing string cheese.

The Dairy & Nutrition Council of Indiana will be sponsoring the Colts 101 and 201clinics. These clinics give women information about the basics of football. This gives women an opportunity to learn basic vocabulary, player positions and line ups, as well as day to day routines from the pros themselves.
The Colts 201 clinics give women the chance to pass, catch, kick and practice defensive drills with Alumni Colts Players and Colts Personnel. It is a fun night so make sure you wear your sweats, it will be a great workout!
Nutritious snacks and materials will be available from the Dairy & Nutrition Council at these events. Please visit the Colts web site for more information.

Over 800 women will gather for Indianapolis annual Go Red For Women Luncheon, presented by St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana. The American Heart Association fundraiser inspires, educates and moves women to love their hearts. Last year, the Indianapolis Luncheon ranked 5th in the country for dollars raised and attendance.
Women from throughout Marion, Hendricks, Hamilton, Johnson and Boone counties who attend the empowering, half-day event will find educational breakout sessions, free health screenings, exhibits, a heart-healthy lunch and inspiration from our keynote speaker.
The Dairy & Nutrition Council of Indiana is a proud sponsor of this event. We will be taking milk mustache photos and providing milk, cheese and yogurt throughout the event.

To mark the world famous Indy 500 motor race, Indianapolis Zoo hosts an annual tortoise race. Presented by the American Dairy Association of Indiana, the event marks the move of the Aldabra tortoises (Lyn and AJ) from their winter holding area to their summer home. “The Voice of the Zoopolis 500” will again be Mike King, the voice of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway radio network. Dropping the green flag will be guest Indy 500 driver, two-time IRL IndyCar© Series Champion Sam Hornish, Jr., of Team Penske. Young racegoers can stay after the race to get the autograph of this very popular driver. The Zoopolis 500 is sponsored by the American Dairy Association of Indiana, Inc., and the Dairy and Nutrition Council, Inc., who will provide free milk mustache photos for Zoo guests and delicious, icy cold bottles of milk for the winning tortoise’s pit crew at the finish line.
The race is held on the Wednesday before the Indianapolis 500. 2008 will be exciting race because the tortoises have retired and new racers will be unveiled!
